What is the difference between IQ and Intelligence? (pgs. 15-33)

21 comments:

  1. The difference between IQ and intelligence is that an IQ is personal intelligence compared to the population; Intelligence is like common sense. Like in the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” the poor dad has a high IQ and a lot of degrees and gone to many colleges. But, the rich dad is intelligent. He still believes in education and good grades, but he is intelligent with what he does with his money. Also with the way he gets his money; he lets his money work for him, he doesn’t work for his money as the book says. The rich dad also states that if you say you are rich you will be rich if you say your poor you are poor. In addition the rich dad thinks if you are poor you need to figure out how you can by something by working your brain and thinking about it; not just saying that I can’t afford that.

  2. IQ is a basic test of intelligence, but it fails to test how that knowledge is applied. While Robert’s poor dad may have had a high IQ, he doesn’t put his knowledge into use, as Robert would say he has a lazy mind. However, the rich dad talks about “exercising” the brain by putting principles into practice and turning statements into questions. This shows that the rich dad is truly intelligent, even though he may have a low IQ because of his poor education.

  3. IQ is like getting good grades in school or getting that fancy Ph. D. Having the knowledge to solve a quadratic equation. Intelligence is just being smart in general. Like having the knowledge to be smart with your money. The difference between IQ and intelligence is how they can be used. IQ is used for school or education. Intelligence is used for making smart decisions because you have enough knowledge to make that decision.

  4. The diference between IQ and inteligence is being educated or being a naturaly smart person. One dad was highly educated and intelligent. Being so educated made him a very intelligent and smart person. The other dad didn’t finish eighth grade but was also smart and had a high IQ. His IQ made him smart enough for life.

  5. The difference between IQ and intelligence is that IQ shows how much you have learned over specific subjects, while intelligence is the more real-life use of wisdom or “street smarts”. A person can learn very well in the classroom and excel in schooling, but they may not know important facts about the real world. In the book, the IQ could be considered the ill-advised in finances who didn’t learn the importance in school, and the intelligent could be for example, the rich Dad who adjusts his attitude in order to become financially stable.

  6. IQ is a number representing a person's reasoning ability. Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. For example in the book the boys dad who had a high IQ told the boys that he didnt know how the could make money. But the other dad who never went to high school gave the two boys jobs at 30 cents a day. There for the dad with the high IQ didnt have a clue but, the dad with the high inteligence knew what to do and how to do it. He gave him a job so that they could learn how hard it is to realy make money.

  7. The difference between IQ and Intelligence is a big variety of choices. IQ is pretty much a test of intelligence. In the story the poor dad had a tremendous IQ because of how much schooling he went through. As for the rich dad he had the intelligence, which is the common sense of the two things. The rich dad was the intelligent one because he thought outside of the box, and he wanted to be rich and own his own company. Not work for a company like the poor dad.

  8. In the book Rich dad, Poor dad IQ is how smart you are. His father had all the IQ and degrees but he didn't have the intelligence to use his money wisely. His Rich dad was also very smart and used the Intelligence on how to make and save for all his money

  9. The difference between IQ and intelligence is very simple. IQ is a test used to exam a person’s brainpower and to see how smart they really are. Sometimes an IQ is accurate because some people are not good test takers but are informed and could tell you the answer if you asked. Intelligence is what someone is a capable of learning, how much they have learned, and what they know. Some people have high intelligence but when it comes to test, it’s like they don’t know anything.

  10. IQ is what you know and intelligence is how you use what you know. The poor dad obviously had a very high IQ. There is little denying that with the Ph.D. and degrees from Stanford and other colleges. Since the rich dad never finished the eighth grade, most people may question his mental ability. However, he was intelligent because he always look at things in a way that made him think the subject over and make a decision based on that, then use that information to his advantage. The poor dad simply shut the subject out of his mind. The rich dad also showed intelligence by finding ways of making money work for him. Another sign of intelligence is mental strength. The rich dad shows this because he always refers to himself as rich instead of the poor dad who says he will always be poor.

  11. IQ is a test that measures proficiency in knowledge or in a specific subject. The score is determined by one’s performance on a standardized intelligence test relative to the average performance of others of the same age. It is also the ratio of mental age to the chronological age. Intelligence is the natural ability to learn or understand and the ability to apply knowledge to real life. In relation to the book, I think the rich dad was more intelligent than the poor dad. He used what he knew and applied these things to real life situations. I think the poor dad had a higher IQ. He received a higher education by attending many universities and by also getting a Ph.D. He also completed four years of undergraduate school in less than two years. However, the poor dad struggled financially his whole life while the rich dad owned many companies.

  12. IQ is something that you just know; it tests how smart you are. But intelligence is when you know things more than just book smart, but worldly smart. The difference between these dads is very different. They almost always think the exact opposite. One dad told his son not to take risks and the other told him to manage them. Another thing they said was that his son should find a good company to work for and the other said that he needs to find a good company and buy it. The difference between these dads is simply the difference between IQ and intelligence, because one of them is smart and knows what the right thing to do is, but the other is smart and knows what the logical way to deal with his money in real life right now.

  13. IQ is the way your mental capacity is measured and your itelligence is how you express that like with money and personal finacing you have to have to really express that with a lot of power and it it forward. Your IQ it doesn't really matter because that's just measures your mental capacity.

  14. The rich dad and the poor dad had diffenet vilositys on what was going on with there money and they also had different educations. The poor dad had the intelligence and worked hard. The rich dad had the IQ and went to school but didnt do much to to earn the money that he had. There is a diffence between IQ and intelligence. The dads also just chose diffent paths and had differnt perspectives on what they wanted later on in life.

  15. I don't know if i'm just supposed to comment or not. So i'll just put it here.

I.Q and financial intelligence are very different things. I.Q or Intelligence Quotient is ones ability to reason. Financial intelligence means knowing information of financial affairs. The ability to reason won’t make you money you can’t reason with money and wealth. In the book, it tells the difference of the two dads and there perspective on money. The way I look at it, is the poor dad uses reason to deal with his money and he things he needs to play it safe. The rich dad uses his financial intelligence to manage risk.

  17. In the book its was refuring that the poor dad is the intelligent one because he worked his way to be the father by going to college and working hard. The rich dad has a IQ because he didnt work as hard but succeeded in his work.

  18. There are a few differences that are different between IQ and intelligence. The first is that IQ is the test to determine a person’s intelligence quotient, and intelligence is the word used to determine a person’s mind. The second is that IQ is the calculated measure of someone’s intelligence, and Intelligence is what everyone uses to measure IQ. The third is that rich dad uses his intelligence to get the money that he wants, and the poor dad uses his IQ to unfortunately keep where he is his whole life.

  19. IQ is the ability to problem solve. Intelligence is the ability to use what you know in everyday situations. If you are very intelligent, if you are not able to problem solve, it doesn't do you any good. If you are able to problem solve without intelligence, you would be better off because you are able to think things through.

  20. The difference between IQ and Intelligence can be a drastic one. A person can have an extremely high level of education with a high IQ but not know what to do in everyday situations. These people are often called “book smart”. On the other hand, there are millionaires who never completed school but are still intelligent and now how to succeed in life. Sometimes these people are called “street smart”. These are the people who look at situations in a different light and go about them differently. In my opinion you do not have to have a complete education with a college degree to succeed and be happy in life.

  21. I.Q. is a standardized test that supposedly measures intelligence levels. But their is a difference of book smart and world smart. Rich dad is world smart, applying knowledge, using people skills, and making money through other things than working his tail off. As, poor dad is book smart, with a great education, high paying job, but he can not manage his money and understand how to live life without living paycheck to paycheck or needing more money.
